What this site is

This guide is an independent directory covering 117 dog day care centers in Durham, NC. It exists so someone choosing care for their dog can compare facilities side by side instead of guessing from a handful of scattered search results. We built it for local owners who want to see how a facility stacks up on the things that actually matter: staffing, cleanliness, safety practices, hours, and how consistently a business shows up for its customers over time.

Durham, NC Dog Day Care Center Guide is an independent directory and comparison resource. We also generate enquiries for local providers: when you ask to be matched, we pass your enquiry to providers relevant to your request and may receive a referral fee for that introduction. Referral arrangements never affect scores or earned rankings. Those two functions, comparing and connecting, are kept separate on purpose.

How listings are built

Each profile starts with public business data: name, address, hours, services, and similar facts. We layer in a synthesis of recent Google reviews to capture what patrons are actually experiencing, but we do not republish review text. If you want the original reviews, we link out to the business’s Google listing so you can read them directly at the source.

Facilities can and do ask us to correct facts, like a wrong phone number, an outdated address, or hours that changed. We welcome that and update it. What a listed business cannot do is edit its own score, sentiment summary, or ranking position. Those come from the data and the rubric, not from the business itself.

How rankings are earned

Every facility on this site is scored the same way, against a published rubric, using the data we collect and nothing else. There’s no manual thumb on the scale for a facility we like better, and no way to buy a higher spot. Sponsorship, when it appears

Some pages may include a listing marked “Sponsored.” It’s always labeled clearly, shown in its own section separate from the earned rankings, and it never changes where a business lands in the actual ranked list. Sponsorship pays for visibility, not for a better score.

Who’s behind this

This directory is published by Doggy Rank IQ, run by Caprice McManus, a professional dog walker and pet sitter who has worked with Durham dogs for 20 years. She owns dogs herself and works daily with local owners on training, feeding routines, and finding care they trust. She started this project after watching too many people pick a daycare off a bare Google search with no real way to compare their options. Her own dog walking and sitting business is not listed in these rankings, and no facility gets different treatment because of any relationship with her.

Editorial oversight and the ranking rubric are maintained by Clara Tan, Senior Editor. Data across the directory is refreshed monthly, and each listing carries a “last verified” stamp so you can see when it was last checked.
